Today’s episode is all about step 1 of 4 in this success process: Growing Your Confidence.
I know one of the things you love most about your business is to help other women to dream big and earn life-changing prosperity.
But this can also be frustrating. Many don’t see what’s possible.
They aren’t consistent — or worse — they give up and quit.
This can cause many to question their leadership.
Every leader questions what she’s doing at some point on their success journey. Actually many times. It’s part of what brings successful leaders more success. Yes, it sounds a little backward. Why would confident leaders question their leadership skills?
Don’t get me wrong. You are confident. It’s not your confidence we’re talking about it’s confidence in your leadership skills.
These are two different things. Confidence in yourself as a leader and confidence in your skills are two different things.
Both can grow and develop. But confidence in yourself as a leader can have a bit more ambiguous traits to focus on.
I deep dive into this with my clients. There is more to this because knowing your specific top leadership strengths and also the traits that fall in at the bottom is incredibly important.
Leadership skills as I describe them are a bit more tangible. There are specific things you can identify and do more of or less of or more efficiently when we talk about skills.
These can both be discovered through knowing your leadership strengths. I take my clients through a leadership strengths assessment and we use the results together for a high-touch, high-value experience. Today, for this episode topic, I’m referring to leadership skills.
The second reason confident leaders may question their leadership skills is that successful leaders are on a journey to continue to grow in their leadership abilities and skills.
Successful savvy leaders just like you can be both confident in what they’ve done to get where they are and also tell me “I really just need more confidence in my leadership skills. Skills like transferring resilience to my team, dissolving their doubts, and instilling an unshakeable drive.”
These are the specific things I hear, accomplished, savvy, high-achieving leaders ask me about.
And here is what I have to say.
Check your boundaries.
Yes, your boundaries.
When you build an organization and business on relationships this can be a difficult dynamic when your role also includes holding your team accountable. What’s a leader to do?
It may not be what you’re expecting to hear, but take care of yourself first. Learn to delegate and say no with compassion. And have the hard, difficult conversations, but do so while using kind words.
The 4-step success process I’ve created for you breaks all of this down further with strategies. Today I introduced you to step 1 of 4 Growing Your Confidence as a leader. You can grab the 4-step success process for free which will give you more on this topic of growing your confidence as a leader and also give you the other 3 success steps.
