Hey friends. We’re here for episode 99. Which Wealth Mindset Do You Have?
I am Tammy Meyer and we’re talking wealth today.
One of my favorite subjects to work on with my VIP clients. And it does take work.
An important first step that can benefit you is to know your wealth mindset. There are typically three different mindsets I come across when working with savvy, high-achieving direct sales leaders.
As I describe these three, listen to which one sounds like your mindset the most. There may be some overlap, but be listening for which one of the three you feel most describes your wealth mindset. Keep in mind, that all of these include savvy, high-achieving, at the top of their company, successful individuals.
Mindset number one. I call this one “The Care Free” wealth mindset.
The entrepreneur with this mindset is in it for the people. Not a lot of focus on incentives or personal rewards or bonuses because she simply loves people. There are plenty of incentives, bonuses, and rewards earned because she loves people and this makes her good at what she does!
She wants to have fun while helping others, she wants to share, connect, connect others, and have fun. Did I mention she likes to have fun? She’s really in it for the social factor.
The Care Free does love the high-income months. These entrepreneurs love the sale. They get a rush working with someone who finally makes the purchasing decision.
They say they don’t really care about the money but it’s a positive benefit to having fun doing what they love to do.
Ultimately, how she thinks about wealth may be an afterthought. It’s not why she got into this or what keeps her going. Her business volume can fluctuate.
Did any of that resonate with you? Again this is what I call “The Care Free”
Mindset number two. I call this one The Surprise.
This is the entrepreneur who is subtle and unassuming. Most wouldn’t suspect she is a high-achiever at the top of her company. She is persistently working. She’s thorough and responsible. Her follow-through is rock solid. She takes care of both her customers and her team members with the same level of care. She surprises herself with her personal best sales.
She knows her numbers, she sets goals, and she typically achieves them. She only goes for a bonus or incentive when she knows she can go for it. She’s planful, organized, and reliable.
Ultimately, she may not yet have fully stepped into her wealth possibilities and embraced a vision of what she is capable of when it comes to her wealth.
Did any of this resonate with you? Again, this is what I call The Surprise Wealth Mindset.
Lastly, Mindset number three. I call this one The CFO. As in ‘Chief Financial Officer’.
This is the entrepreneur who sees the business opportunity for what it is. And she likely did so from the start. It’s likely why she said yes.
She runs her business like a business.
She knows her own personal numbers and her team numbers. Always. She could share them at any moment. She tracks progress consistently. She shares number information with her team in ways, and at times, other leaders don’t.
She takes onboarding, coaching, and development of her team seriously. She is a planner and has systems for this.
She is mission-driven. Cares deeply. She is personable.
Ultimately, she may wish she took this all a little less seriously, maybe had a tad more fun with it somehow, but she simply can’t help herself. It’s how she’s wired.
Is this you? Did this resonate?
Let me review the three wealth mindsets again.
- The Care Free Wealth Mindset. All about fun, people, and connection. Is successful at the top of her company but maybe has more ups and downs with business volume. Not in it for the earnings. It’s a great perk.
- The Surprise Wealth Mindset. She’s unsuspecting. Many may not suspect she is at the top of her company. She’s organized, thorough, responsible, dependable, a follow through guru and yet maybe hasn’t yet envisioned what is truly possible for herself and the size of her organization.
- The CFO Wealth Mindset. She knows what’s possible and has from the start. She runs her business like a business and knows numbers. All of them. She loves tracking numbers and goals and progress. She may wish she wasn’t quite so serious with it all but can’t help it. It’s who she is.
The more high-achieving leaders I connect with, these are the three wealth mindsets I typically come across and how I have characterized them.
By giving them names, it helps leaders identify with something. From there it’s much easier to own their strengths with their wealth mindset. It’s also incredibly helpful to zero in on the opportunities they can focus on to open themselves up for more wealth.
So my question for you is which wealth mindset is the most like your mindset around wealth and how you approach your business?
The Care Free?
The Surprise?
The CFO?
Did I capture it? If not, how would you describe your Wealth Mindset?
